Registering Your DSC on the GST Portal

Before signing GST returns or applications with a DSC, register it against the authorised signatory.

You need

  • The signatory's DSC on a working token
  • The emSigner utility (the portal prompts you)
  • A certificate whose PAN matches the authorised signatory

Steps

  1. Log in at gst.gov.in.
  2. Open the profile section and choose the option to register or update DSC.
  3. Select the signatory's PAN.
  4. Start emSigner, select the certificate and sign.

If it fails

  • Restart emSigner and the browser
  • Check the certificate's PAN and expiry
  • Make sure the signatory is listed in the registration
